Turtley Rad

Beautiful home with fantastic views! This is our third family reunion staying at Turtley Rad, and we love it here. This house is well laid out, with comfortable beds and plenty of gathering space. A big shout out to Lindsay and Jamie at Forgotten Shores - they are professional, friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great trip. We were so impressed they turned the house over quickly after a near-miss from Hurricane Idalia, keeping us informed the whole time. We'll be back!

Many electrical outlets don't work (on all floors). One dishwasher doesn't work (this has been reported in many reviews). One washing machine works sporadically, one washing machine smells rancid (don't wash your clothes in it).

We have been taking family beach vacations for over 40 years and this ranks up as the best one every! Turtley Rad was a great layout for socializing with family or finding quiet time to relax. The kitchen is on the smaller size for a house that big, but we found it to be well equipped with all the pots, pans, serving bowls, dishes and silverware that we needed. The house is about a 20 minute drive from "downtown" but we don't go out to dinner so that was fine with us! The house is older, so it could use some TLC like fixing some cabinets in the kitchen and repairing the second dishwasher, but that didn't detract from our stay. The biggest inconvenience was no bathroom on the first floor for our son staying in that room...but he showered in the outdoor private shower and loved it and just used our bathroom as needed. We already booked our trip for 2024 and are looking forward to another great trip to St George Island!

The vacation home has a lovely view and decks were amazing. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels and beach towels. As the weather wasn’t overly warm we enjoyed the heated pool. The staff at the rental company was amazing with answering all my questions and helping coordinate this last min rental. We saw numerous large sharks very close to the shore.

Extremely disappointing house. The trundle bed upstairs has springs sticking through. My niece had to fold 3 blankets to be able to sleep on. The furniture is very tired. The individual sofa sleeper looked like it came from Goidwill. Sleepers r usually in a separate room or game room. Two were in the main gathering room where u would not put ppl. We could not use them. Several receptacles didn't work. One person could not use their C-pap bc of this. There was an open, moldy hold leaking water above one shower. Tge kitchen was full of useless trinkets. 4 wine openers, 3 cheese graters. Every drawer n cabinet was filled so we had to compact all to be able to put food items in. There were about 15 beautiful serving bowls n platters but the cookware was abysmal. Looked like beat up items from thrift store, no large pots. If u want to cook for more than 10 ppl bring large pots. There were 2 6 at slow cookers, one did not work. Coming down from the top floor in the elevator it paused so long between each floor that I started reading the emergency info. We did enjoy the icemaker and my king size mattress was excellent.

My family loved Turtley Rad. We had a great time with our kids and grandchildren. The house was perfect and was very well appointed. The ocean views were spectacular and at night the stars were unbelievable! All in all the entire vacation was wonderful.
Jamie at Forgotten Shores was fantastic and did everything she could to make our stay one we won't forget! I highly recommend them!

It was a wonderful week in a beautiful home. It was our second year with 19 people, good weather and a comfortable and well-furnished home. We eat in for all of our meals, and one could not ask for a better equipped kitchen. Everything one could one and a few more tools. Two dishwashers (though one needed repair), an ice maker, two refrigerators, all kinds of small appliances and utensils. We did have to call for a door repair on Sunday and Monday morning the repairman was there and did an excellent job. The pool was clean and the outdoor equipment was very welcome. Also, the bikes and canoes through VayKay were well used and in great condition. Our family ranged from 2 years old to 78 and everybody had a great time. The elevator was especially great for our older folks and for transporting luggage and food. We hope to return next year if the price isn’t too much more!

The house was nice for our group of 17. A few surprises , 1. The downstairs was not used at all due to the bedroom being isolated with no bathroom on that floor . (2) the price was increased due to
availability which I understand, but the increase was too much for the actual condition of the house It is an older house at a prime location We would return to the house, but would hope a few minor needed repairs would be done..
Overall a 3.5 compared to expectations The general condition wasa 4. The location was a 5.The property was clean and rated a 4.The property management group was responsive and rated a 5.

We had a great time. The house was in a great location and we had perfect weather the whole stay.

Great destination for multiple families. Plenty of space to get away from loud children or if you just want some peace and quite to read a book. Public trail was busier than expected but not as problematic as feared.

3 couples stayed in this house and we had a floor each! It was a great house with great views. The beach is beautiful. I was especially grateful for the rental company who was very responsive and helpful. The kitchen was well equipped, but bring your own spices because there are none. Not a big deal but good to know.

The layout was perfect with plenty of privacy as well as space for groups to gather. Being near the cut was great; you can see the sunrise and sunset, and the kids loved exploring the jetties. Forgotten Shores, the realty company, was exemplary! Jamie was friendly, responsive, accomodating of requests and was the best I've worked with on the island! This home will be a treat for your vacation - we'll be back!

Forgotten Shores Properties was professional and quick to respond to my concerns. Unfortunately we visited just before a tropical storm came through. A couple of the windows in the house allowed water to pass through. We soaked it up with towels until the storm passed, but it was obvious that this was not the first time water entered the house this way. The house needs probably $120,000.00 of work to realize it's potential. The registers in the ceiling drip water, the wood floors have been damaged and repaired (poorly), the furniture is worn and stained, the ceilings are stained, etc. Despite that, I would stay there again just for the location and the fact that our dogs could stay with us. It was comfortable, and the elevator was fabulous for carrying our luggage and groceries. There is not a better location on the island for our needs. Not many people around, jetties close by if you like to fish, and the beach is in your back yard so you can easily run up to the house for your sunglasses or whatever you forgot to bring to the beach.

Very pleased with the house and property , , the views and the sounds of nature made a relaxing week for roughly 20 people , to be able to congregate all in 1 house was ideal !

We found Turtley Rad as described online. Any problems that came up were quickly addressed. Overall it was in good condition. It does need some touch up - signs of water leaks on ceiling, mold in ice maker, old toilet seats, bulbs out in some of the lights (sconces, lamps), etc. Love the ice makers! We normally have to make runs for ice every day. We didn't with ice makers. Love the solar panels! For us room with pool table on lower floor was a waste - bathroom on lower floor would have been great with bunk room and pool outside. Boardwalk for house is a public boardwalk! This results in beachfront being shared with multiple parties since there is no private boardwalk. Credit for beach gear is great! Our group cooks dinner every night. Kitchen became a bottleneck at times. If you don't have someone tall staying with you - you may need to bring a step stool to reach the higher cabinets in the kitchen. We requested a food processor and it was brought to the house. Beach equipment at house does include kayak and paddle. There are also beach chairs that can be used. Outdoor shower is great (hot water!) - it does need cleaning.

Our family of 23 spent a week on St George Island. We reserved our site through Forgotten Shores. I worked with Jamie Rex from beginning to the end. She was delightful, courteous, friendly and very helpful. We had family members from 18 months to 74 and everyone quickly after a few days on the island asked if we can come back again. Our house was beautiful, the location was perfect and very convenient. We have been on two Disney Cruises and everyone said they would choose this vacation as the best. Thank you Jamie for helping me create a vacation that was filled with fun, excitement, and magical.

We had 15 adults and one infant and logistically, it was fine...the outdoor shower helped lots! The house and outdoor spaces are beautifully appointed, kitchen fully equipped, two fridges, three ice makers, two dishwashers, two washer/dryers. Some age shown in kitchen, but all in all it was a great location for our group. Twenty four in the house would definitely be a bit much. Also the walkway to beach is public access, fyi. CLEAN AND COMFY AND BEACHY. What more could you want? Loved the detailed beach decor. Forgotten Shores folks were GREAT.

Everything went beautifully.

Super clean and smelled of disinfectant.
With covid around, this was a very welcome scent.
The beds were all super comfortable.
Jaime from Forgotten Shores was absolutely wonderful.
The location could not be better.
Plenty of room to walk the dogs.
We had a minor issue which was addressed immediately and with tremendous courtesy.
I cannot say enough great things about this rental and hope to stay there again.

Turtley Rad. The house layout is amazing. We all loved it. A few requests from an overall very pleased renter. There definitely needs to be a restroom added downstairs!!! Second, updates and repairs are overdue. I’m sure the new owners have that already scheduled. Thirdly the ice maker that is on the very top floor needs to be moved to the bottom floor for ease of access for coolers. Overall great place to stay. Beautiful view

We loved this house..plenty large enough to accommodate or large family. Very clean too!

Most Amazing Beachfront View overlooking Sykes Cut on the West end of the Island. House was great for our family and still had more than enough room. If you ever the get the chance to stay at Turtley Rad, I highly recommend it. Also able to watch the Sun Completely rise and Completely set. Some of the most spectacular views we have ever seen and we have been coming to SGI for over 23yrs. Also Jamie at Forgotten Shore Properties was the most accommodating and extremely helpful.
