Beautiful & spacious

We really enjoyed our stay here. With 3 couples, there was more than enough space for each of us to have our own places to relax - together or apart. Each floor has a great deck for sunrise and dolphin watching! As well, the top floor is huge! A true suite. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen & loved the icemaker. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Booking through Forgotten Shoes was a breeze and better than VRBO. They were great helping us with navigating hurricane Betty. The house was perfect, very comfortable and relaxing. Well appointed kitchen - even with a waffle maker, etc. Easy access to the beach. We will be back.

This was our fifth year staying in Seabiscuit for the month of February. As always it was a fantastic stay and the crew at Forgotten Shores Properties are the best!!
Nice house right on the beach
Steve C., Marietta, GA United States
The house was in good condition. Using the elevator, someone in a wheelchair could literally go from the top floor all the way to the beach without doing a single step (big advantage for disabled people!)
Nice house needs updates

Beach access was very nice. Interior paint, fixtures, cabinets, some furniture, Microwave falling out of the cabinet, etc.. are in desperate need of updates. Still overall location is what sells the place. I will say I have stayed in several houses on St George island and this was not the best.

Great house! Best vacation!!!
lisa f., Cookeville, TN US
This house was fabulous. The kitchen was well equipped and had two refrigerators for plenty of storage. The bedrooms were spacious and very clean. The balconies were so special every evening for relaxing. We had a family reunion with kids and they loved playing with all of the sand toys. It was a perfect place for our large extended family. We loved it !!

It is a well laid out house, great porches, easy access to the beach, good location near the Bob Sikes Cut.

This was a very large house. Very spacious, however, you can tell it's one of the older properties and we had several issues happen. First the toilet tank on the top floor completely busted open just trying to flush it and water was everywhere. Second there were a lot of ants. Third, the front door handle kept coming off. Although there were these issues the staff was fairly good at responding, but had trouble getting the right help on the weekend and had to wait til Monday for some repairs. Overall the stay was pretty good.
Great house - great location!
Recent Guest, Atlanta, GA United States
We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids. The house is wonderful for big groups. Well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, AC worked really well. Porches are wonderful. Ocean front with it's own good boardwalk accessible by ramp from the ground level for pulling your beach or fishing carts. It is a great house - the only negative is that it needs to be updated/renovated, but that did not detract from our stay at all! Highly recommend!
Great opportunity for family time!
TIMOTHY M., ST PETE BEACH, FL United States
While two couples of our group were unable to join us, the 9 of us who did stay in SeaBiscuit enjoyed our stay very much - and were talking about another stay next year. The second floor living/dining area was simply great!
We had read comments about the stair carpeting, but those are history because it has brand new carpeting over the stairs. The Gulf front location and balconies were perfect to watch the waves roll in. The beds/bedding were very comfortable. Plenty of space for our group to get together; we prepared most of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen. The only item not quite right was the kitchen faucet - it functioned fine, but it was wobbly from when we first arrived; with a deep socket wrench, it should be able to be tightened fine.

The house was a great fit for our extended family, especially the large open kitchen, dining and living room. Views and access to the beach are spectacular!

Beautiful location right on the beach. Plenty of room for 9 retired friends to enjoy the beach, biking and Pickleball. Would definitely recommend. The home was older but well maintained .
Seabiscuit - Great Stay
Dan T and Catherine K F., Blythe, GA United States
This house was large enough to accommodate 3 generations of our family - 8 adults and 8 children easily. The boardwalk gave us direct beach access. Decks were large; seating for meals was plentiful. The kids ate most meals outside. Clean up was so easy. We just hosed off the tables after meals! It is near the end of the Plantation which makes running to the store for a few items time consuming. We made a big grocery run to begin the week. The carpeted stairway - condition and cleanliness - was less than ideal. Tile or wood would be easier for the housekeepers to clean. We had a wonderful week together at Seabiscuit.

House needs some TLC
Recent Guest, Tallahassee, FL United States
The location is great! The layout works wonderfully for families. Kitchen is spacious. Unfortunately, the house needs a good cleaning and updating. Mold/mildew around the AC vents, pans are old, latches on appliances take some doing to get them to close. The biggest help it needs is to add water runoff control under decks ... when it rains, you cannot sit outside as everything gets wet - then it takes a day of sun for lounge cushions to dry out. We tried stacking cushions next to house during rains, but there is no dry area outside. This was inconvenient for every afternoon showers. Definitely reduced our use of the great porches.
Overall a great experience
Starling O., Prosper, TX United States
There are many great things about this house that outnumber the bad things. Pros:location, balconies, short distance to beach, lots of barstools, large kitchen, great layout, two refrigerators, ice machine, beach chairs and beach toys, lots of kitchen supplies, beach towels. Cons: garbage disposal was broken causing water to back up into the sink every time we tried to wash dishes, carpeting was very dirty, decor is worn and outdated, wifi in the house is spotty, dishwasher door was broken, stove is old and heated unevenly, nonstick skillets were worn and not "non-stick". Overall, for us, the good outweighed the bad and we may be inclined to rent again depending on other homes that may be available. The property management company was very responsive and sent a plumber to the house within 24 hours.

Spacious house for a family with children of all ages

We enjoyed all the amenities of the house but the best part of our week’s vacation was spending time at SGI with our whole family in a spacious house where we could all be together and also have our own space when we wanted some quiet time.

February at Seabiscuit
Andrea E., Russelville, KY United States
This was our third year to spend February at Seabiscuit on SGI! We feel like it is our home away from home and can’t wait to be back in 2022. The house is lovely, well stocked and has an amazing view. Jamie, John and their team are fabulous to work with and make sure the house is ready for us in every way. Wouldn’t want to work with anyone else but Forgotten Shores!
Thanksgiving week to be thankful for!
Alice F., Jackson, GA US
Positives:
Great location to beach and fishing.
Loved the openness of kitchen and living area. Lots of seating.
Kitchen had plenty of dishes and serving items.
Roomy bedrooms.
Negatives:
Would give all 5 if appliances were more updated. The sink disposal did not work. Ice machine did not produce enough ice. Bedrooms TVs were not easy to figure out.
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving time at the Seabiscuit.

Very nice house
Han G., Champions Gate, FL United States
The house was fantastic. Beautiful location. The decks were amazing as was the main living area. All, the bedroom were clean if not a little dated. The house was pretty much as advertised bar 3 things. First, the elevator did not work which was an issue for our disabled friend, second, the land line did not work. This was a problem as the cell phone service was so bad in the area we had to go outside to make calls. Thirdly, the internet access was not encrypted. I have no idea why someone would have an unencrypted internet service. I would stay there again if those three things were fixed

Great time with family

The home was awesome, well maintained and taken care of. The doors on both of the refrigerators need worked on. You had to push extra hard on the doors to make sure they were shut. Other than that the home was beautiful, warm and inviting to be in. Because we were close to the west end of the island, it was a slow, but beautiful, drive into town. We truly love St. George Island. This was our 4th time visiting and we will be back soon!

Seabiscuit is Super
David P., Fort Collins, CO United States
Our family of three generations (six adults and four children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay during March 2019. Seabiscuit is spacious and nicely decorated. We particularly appreciated the well appointed kitchen--lots of spices et al. versus stripped down kitchens we have experienced in other rentals on SGI. There were even sand toys for the kids. Proximity to Sykes Cut was a plus. Communications with Forgotten Homes Property Management Group could not have been better.

We had a great time, however there were a few issues with the property. The kitchen supplies are outdated and do not accommodate cooking for a large crowd. The supplies that were there were very old and not good quality. It made it difficult for us to cook for the whole family, which we always enjoy doing when together. When we arrived there was no hot water at the property, someone was sent to repair that on the the 3rd day. We also felt the property was not as clean as others we have stayed at in the past. The property management was very polite and helpful and great at keeping us updated. We didn't let the above issues keep us from having a good time. But probably won't rent this particular house next time, even though we had a fabulous vacation at our favorite island.
