At Last

My wife and I enjoy visiting St. George Island when it is winter at home. This cottage was the perfect retreat for us with additional room for another couple to join us. The upstairs has sleeping room for children and others.

There are 2 master bedrooms with master bathrooms. The upstairs guests would need to use one of the easily accessible master bathrooms.

There are 2 convenient beach access walkways in front of the cottage. The Plantation is safe and the environment was quiet during our visit.

My only concern is that the internet service and cell phone service at the cottage is very weak. This is a great place to go offline, but don’t expect to work from this location.

We will be returning.

We had a very enjoyable stay at At Last. There were lots of books,puzzles,kitchen utensils, things like that. While it was not beach front we could see the water which was nice. Deck was great. Our only criticism was the Internet/tv was out until Monday....not good when an NFL playoff game is on but the technician was able to get things up and running, however you could only use streaming on the tv which we did not have and the dvd player on the main tv did not work, fortunately we had brought our own. It was an inconvenience but not enough to make us not was to stay there again. We do plan to rebook for next year. Enjoyed eating at the Beach Pit and the Blue Parrot

We visit St. George Island every year for Thanksgiving. You cannot go wrong on the plantation with beautiful beaches, biking, tennis, and bay access. We have stayed in several homes on the plantation and At Last definitely a favorite. We have rented this home multiple times. Close to the clubhouse and beach access. Forgotten Shores is always a great company to work with.

It was a great week. The house is perfectly located and stocked with anything you need. We want to return! It's our new favorite place.

We loved our stay at this property. It was so close to the beach and the pool. It was a beautiful property. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Great- master toilet needs to be secured and soft spots in floor on both levels needs to be check. In addition, pest control needs to be scheduled or communicated to guest prior to arriving.

Our family had a fun and relaxing week staying in this beautiful, well appointed home that's extremely close to the boardwalk/beach and clubhouse pool/amenities. Highly recommend!!

Somehow this house was the center of the most relaxed vacation we’ve had. Several people commented to that effect. We’ve been coming to St George for 25 years. Might be us being better at relaxing—we think the house helped.
It’s not right on the beach. We could see the water though. The beach equipment provided by Vay-K rentals was great and light weight. Still we were very glad we paid additional for the cart to carry the beach equipment. We particularly enjoyed the main room arranged with three separate areas: games, dining and lounging. Nicely done. We read reviews about cleanliness—we found cleanliness. Thank you

Enjoyed the house for a family event. It was an easy walk to the beach and plantation fitness room was nice. The bedrooms were spacious and the front deck was very accommodating on the nice days.

Feedback on items of note:
- kitchen area small and tight
- bathrooms need updating
- dinner table top was loose and made it frustrating with meals
- sliding doors are very heavy and hard to open/close

I don’t normally post reviews. However, I want others aware of a few issues. The location is wonderful and the rental company was easy to work with on trip. The house was definitely not what I would consider clean. The floors were definitely dirty. The vacuum at the house didn’t function correctly. We sprayed the house down with lysol, and cleaned the bathrooms before using. I am not sure why, but at night the queen bedroom doesn’t seem to stay cool. We would wake up sweating in the night. The location is great, and house would be fine if it had a good deep clean and a few updates. I am thinking the floors couldn’t be cleaned good bc of the lack of cleaning equipment. FYI the washer and dryer is outside in garage closet. It wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but you do have to go outside. It’s super hot.

Our visit to At Last in early June 2022 was very nice. We found the property to be updated in some areas and needing an update in others. Overall the property was nice and there were no major issues. The main living area and kitchen have been mostly updated is was very nice. The two bathrooms are in need of updating, but we had no problems with them. And it would be great to find a way to relocate the W/D into the main home.

Location is fantastic! Easy walk to the beach. Rooms are a great size and kitchen is well stocked! A few things could be touched up but nothing that is a big deal! We enjoyed it enough that we booked a second trip on our last night!

Enjoyed the house. Very livable for 2 couples. Pretty well stocked with necessary amenities. Could use an umbrella on the deck for mid-day sun.

Beautiful home with excellent location. The Plantations area is gorgeouse! The home was very pretty and clean until you get to the bathrooms. They were dirty, hairs, soap scum, and mold in shower areas in both bathrooms. Vents full of mold and years of dust. Baseboards throughtout house dirty. Beds and pillows need to be thrown away. So broken down and uncomfortable. With a few changes this home would be fantastic.

This is our second year in a row to rent this house. We love it! Very well stocked and beautifully decorated.

This is a wonderful vacation home in the Plantation; so good that we’re going back to stay there again next week. It’s a charming house and we had everything we could want or need. I have had other rentals with the management company and I have to say that they (Jamie in particular) are the best! So professional and responsive. We are starting construction on a house 2 doors down, so I expect to be back!

We had the best week. Grandkids loved every minute of it. We were close to beach access without being beach front. Close to pool entrance. A great location.

All went well. Furniture and bedding very uncomfortable.

Overall our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at At Last. The access to the beach was a short walk and not to far for little ones. The pool is super close as well for an option when everyone is over the sand! The house could have been cleaned a little more throughly. The trees on the property needed to be trimmed so that you’re able to walk down the steps in the front and to see the amazing ocean views the house offers. The deck on the front was a little shaky! The decor is adorable. The bathrooms do need to be updated.

The complete living area was delightfully decorated. Living room with two sofas, a game table and a wonderful round table for dining. Kitchen well equipped and roomy bedrooms. Immaculate! Large deck nestled in the pines and short walk to public beach access.

The house was as pictured/described. Bedrooms were good size with comfy beds. Kids loved the area upstairs. Was almost like having two family rooms. Beach and clubhouse were very close/convenient. We were there the week before Memorial Day, so was very quiet and not crowded until final Saturday night when everyone arrived for the holiday weekend. There was a bad outlet in the bedroom that I called about and never heard back. Also, we don't go on vacation to watch TV, but the cable or Internet TV or whatever they had was pretty much unwatchable. Kept glitching/pausing/stopping no matter the channel or which TV you used throughout the house.

We spent the month of February in AT LAST and enjoyed every minute! Great house with wonderful decorating touches! Can't wait to return next February!!!

At Last was a great place for us to spend our First Anniversary! Everything was neat and in good order when we arrived, and we had a great stay. Bed was comfortable, kitchen was excellent, and I really enjoyed the bicycle we got from VayK as part of the package. We will definitely be back!

Great beach cottage with most stylish and comfortable decor to match. Very clean and well appointed. Although beachfront is our choice, At Last's location is great, only two houses down to the boardwalk and one street over to the clubhouse. And the VayK Gear voucher included was a big hit too! We chose bikes and a beach buggy to haul gear. The Plantation is perfect for riding. Can't say enough about the property manager Jamie, most pleasant and efficient! Reservation was a breeze and check in handled at the gate in less than a minute. We've been coming to the island for many years and all agree At Last is one of our favorites!

This home was not only beautifully and comfortably furnished, but very well equipped with lovely views of the ocean on the expansive deck and just steps to the stunning beaches. The quiet peaceful area is so soothing with the sound of the waves and multiple songs of the surrounding lush natural vegetation. Star gazing with multiple shooting stars and satellites was unbelievable! We're counting the days until our return to that perfect slice of heaven.

Everything about this rental experience was great. From booking to arriving everything we needed was provided. The home itself was well equipped (except seasonings). Although the furnishings were beautiful, they were comfortable and my entire family felt at home. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with others!

At Last was perfectly as described in the listing. Spotlessly clean, and even cozier in person than the pictures show, if you can believe it. We felt right at home! The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed (though as is always the case with rentals you should bring your own favorite kitchen knife). My only suggestion would be to include a small vacuum or dust buster type contraption to help with sand - the single broom provided was ineffective at managing the inevitable sand that will be carried inside by three little boys. ;) The kids adored the upstairs loft and our master bed was quite comfortable. The walk to the beach was easy, just a short stroll down the street past 2 homes and then on to the paved path that's a few steps from the boardwalk. We had one minor issue and maintenance was very helpful and quick to take care of it. The thing we most appreciate about this home (beyond how beautiful and comfortable it is) is that for us, with a son with asthma triggered by animal dander, we had to have a pet free home. Which doesn't mean a home that used to allow pets but now doesn't (as animal dander can remain for a year inside a home!) but one that has truly been pet free. Thank you so much, At Last, for giving our son a safe place to stay while visiting our favorite place in the world! We can't wait to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay in At Last. It felt just as cozy as home! The kids loved the loft so much that our 3 year old, who until now has always slept in Mama and Daddy's bed, declared he wanted to sleep upstairs with his brothers and sure enough, he did all week! We were quite shocked but absolutely happy about this change in sleeping habits and give full credit to At Last. :) The walk to the beach was short, and we never visited the pool but could see that it was just about as quick of a walk as the beach. The house had everything we needed (maybe with the exception of a vacuum to help us keep the sand 3 kids drag in under control) and maintenance was quick and friendly to help when we had one minor issue. The kitchen is well stocked, though with all rentals you'll need to bring a good kitchen knife with you, and we all slept comfortably so the beds aren't too hard or too soft. Note that the washing machine requires liquid detergent. We will definitely be back - I cannot tell you how much fun we had and how comfortable we were in At Last. This is actually the first time we've ever found a home in our many years of staying in the Plantation on SGI that we know we want to return to again and again. We are so excited to have found "the" one!
