Dune Our Thing

Dune Our Thing is our happy place. It's well-appointed and comfortable. It's been recently updated too. The view from the top floor (living room and kitchen) is fabulous. We've been staying here for years... and we will be back!

Lindsey, at Forgotten Shores is truly amazing! Worked to make sure we had a wonderful home in which to spend Labor Day Weekend! The house was clean, beach and pool were so private, LOVED it all!

We loved our stay. Not a single complaint. The house was perfect for us, itnwas clean and well cared for and well equipped. The collection of books was awesome. Every one of us read at least one of the books. Your staff was wonderful to work with. We loved the pool area for where we stayed.

We enjoyed the house and it worked well for our family of 10. It was a fairly long walk to the beach and the steps on the boardwalk will sneak up on you so you have to watch as you are walking or risk falling or jarring your whole body (speaking from experience!). The only suggestion I would offer is more comfortable seating upstairs in the living room.

Overall very nice home. Short walkover to beach.

All I can say is that our party of 9 (3-60 in age) enjoyed our stay. Home is literally a few steps from the beach. Everyone had plenty of space to be alone or to gather as a group, especially for meals. I could tell you plenty about town but wish to express opinion on the rental unit itself mostly. Nicely decorated home, comfy furnishings. Kitchen was well equipped but as ladies who cook, we would have preferred non-stick pans and an actual vent, not just a fan. We cooked all week except for 2 evenings. Home is laid out so that our group could have privacy when desired. Our mornings and evenings were always out on the deck watching the stars and sun. Soaking up the sounds of the beach and watching the dolphins and birds, plus all the crab activity. I really can't think of anything that we would change, except those pans lol. Staff at the Plantation and rental company was courteous and polite. If you love the laid back secluded beach life then this is the place for you. No residents for 2-3 houses down and practically had the beach to ourselves, with the exception of an occasional walker. SGI was more than we had imagined and both husbands wanted to go write a check to stay another week by the middle of our stay. The Pig is the place to buy almost everything we ate or drank, even fresh seafood. The outside grill area came in handy for a crab boil and a steak night. If you need a little extra, the liquor store is right next door to it. Our entire group would highly recommend Dune Our Thing and the entire staff at Forgotten Shores Properties. SGI we will be back!!! And I've already recommended this property and FSP to others.

The home was beautiful but there are a few things I would change. There should be more towels and washcloths provided so laundry does not have to be done as often. The pump for the septic tank had an issue while we were there which disrupted our stay a bit but the managment company was very helpful. There were some safety issues, two of our party fell over the small step in the back that is not marked well. The master bath with the whirlpool needs grab bars, one of our party slipped getting in and was badly bruised.The icemaker did not function which forced us to buy ice several times during our stay, just inconvenient.

We had a great time at Dune our thing for a week in July. We arrived 30 mins prior to check in but no problem! We were allowed to enter the plantation and arrived at the house to find the cleaners. We grabbed our beach gear and headed to the beach! We rented bikes but honestly over 3 miles was a little far for the kids to bike to town, but we did it twice! We rarely left the house and felt safe enough for our kids (7 & 9) to hang at the house by theirselves for 30 mins at a time-which they LOVED, while we hung at the beach. They liked having their own space downstairs and we loved it too! Kitchen was well stocked and we loved the porches and outdoor shower was AMAZING!! If you are looking for a place to get away from the crowd and enjoy waves and quality family time you HAVE to visit Dune our thing!! Oh and we caught a TON of fish from the beach!! Can’t wait to book for next year!

The house, location, views and amenities were on point. The house has everything we needed and was steps away from the sand. We had a wonderful week and would recommend this property 100%. The property managers and owners were great to deal with as well.

We had a really great stay at Dune OurThing. The house is very comfortable and more than enough room and flexibility for our family of six. The house was super clean and well cared for and updated given its age.

The beach view is really terrific. We love the beauty and serenity of the dune and its vegetation and it adds a little privacy from any beach goings on. Ease of access to the beach was just what we wanted.

We only had one issue with the house and Forgotten Shores (FS) was right on it and took care of it. We’ve been coming to St George for almost thirty years and FS is definitely a cut above in terms of property management and customer service. Thanks to Jamie for her help.

I took two weeks off to regroup for the new year. I brought 2 dogs and 2 bikes. It was perfect. We love this house and have stayed here ~5 times. We love St George and have been coming for 30 years. It's great anytime of yea, though shoulder seasons are the best.
The house is great. The view from the kitchen/living room on the top floor is beautiful and tranquil. There are no houses to the East of the house so you get a wonderful view of the dune tops and gulf. The lighting makes for a great reading room. The master bedroom is probably one of the largest we've stayed in and has an office desk for the necessary zoom call. We also love the movie/game room on the ground floor.
We will be back again and again.

We enjoyed staying at Dune Our Thing. The rooms are spacious and furniture was comfortable. The location is perfect. Easy bike to either clubhouse, tennis, and doable to ice cream in town. We liked the privacy of the dunes even if you can’t see the water breaking. We could see the dolphins in morning from the upper deck. The kitchen was super well stocked for cooking, tons of plates and utensils, bowls, even Tupperware. Kids enjoyed the layout and separation from the master and the second living room space downstairs. Loved the credit to get the paddle board dropped off. We didn’t use the culdesac pool but it looked nice. We were worried about being able to hear planes from the air strip but it wasn’t an issue at all. It was fun watching them occasionally take off or land while on the beach during the day. We were able to watch the sunset from the top of the dune walkover. Sunrise off the living room was beautiful.
Only downside was after 2.5 days of rain, the front walk area flooded making for wet shoes to get in the car. The master bath/shower combo is a little bit of a struggle to get in and out of being short. Spacious once you are in it though. Would definitely recommend the house.

Excellent help from staff when gathering info to prepare for trip! Perfect location in The Plantation! Beautiful house, very clean! Well stocked kitchen!

This beachfront home was a perfect location. Everything was just as described and very clean and well maintained.Jamie the property manager was absolutely fantastic! Her customer service went above and beyond anybody I have ever worked with. I would give her 100 stars. I had my wedding here and it couldn't have been more perfect. The views were amazing!We had everything we needed and I would stay here again.

House was very clean and updated. Great views from the kitchen and den. Well furnished. We had a wonderful stay.

We couldn't have asked for a better week at the beach! The house was absolutely beautiful. We had plenty of room and the house was beautifully furnished and immaculate. The location to the beach was perfect. Just a short walk down the decking to the beach. The pool was very conveniently located on the other side of the house. We highly recommend staying at Dune Our Thing! We will be back!

This house had everything we needed for a great family vacation! There was ample room for our family of 10 to spread out and the ground level bonus room was a great place for the kids to hang out and play while the adults congregated upstairs. The beaches are just as you would imagine with beautiful white sands and sparkling waters. There were no houses to one side of us so we pretty much had a huge part of the beach to ourselves! The shared pool was nice and easy to get to, and we also tried the pool at Resort Village just a short walk along the bike path. The beds were comfortable and the beach towels were a bonus. We would stay again!
