Abiding Place

We have stayed in this home previously, and it was very clean upon check in, and well stocked with items to get started with. Unfortunately we only got to stay two nights due to hurricane Helen. This is a great place to stay, we hope to return soon.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary. The house is very well maintained and very clean. We lived that it was literally on the beach. Location was fantastic! It was on a quiet area of the beach, yet still very close to the bars, restaurants and shops. In fact we would be only a short 4 min walk on the beach from the Blue Parrot tiki bar, which we would go to daily. Try their “Sandblaster” frozen drink! Trust me you’ll thank me later! We even saw Dolphins daily while sitting on the sand or in the water right in front of our rental. We also saw sea turtles and a large Manta. It was truly a magical experience! St. George Island was rated the #1 beach in the U.S. and I definitely agree. The sand is like sugar and the water is clear with no rocks or seaweed. And you can walk out 50 yards and still be in only 4 or 5 feet of water. We absolutely love this place! In fact we have decided to make it an annual tradition for our Anniversaries.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible beach house for a week, and it was an absolutely perfect getaway! The location is unbeatable—right on the beach with stunning ocean views. We loved waking up to the sound of the waves and having direct access to the sandy shore just steps from the door.

The house itself was immaculate and exceptionally clean. It was clear that the hosts put a lot of thought into ensuring the home was well-maintained and welcoming. Every detail was considered, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen that had everything we could have needed or wanted. Whether we were cooking a family meal, relaxing in the spacious living room, or enjoying a book on the deck, we felt right at home.

The amenities were top-notch as well. We appreciated the fast Wi-Fi, ample towels and linens, and the variety of beach gear available for our use. The house also had plenty of space for our entire group to spread out and enjoy ourselves.

One of our favorite parts of the stay was the breathtaking sunrises we watched every morning from the patio. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to shops, restaurants, and the lighthouse, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.

Overall, this beach house exceeded all our expectations. It provided a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable beachside vacation!

A quick 4 day family vacation during a school fall break. Place was awesome! Great location, beautiful well stocked house!

We had a wonderful stay. The property was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to get started. The home also had everything we needed for the nights we cooked in, pots, pans, grills etc. We loved the beach front location, and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and drinking coffee in the mornings watching the sunrise. We hope to stay again soon.

Our stay was great. We celebrated my brother and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our pups with us. The weather was great. The water was the perfect temperature. Great sunrise!! We recommend Paddy's Raw Bar and Blue Parrot. We also recommend Lou's Beer, Wine & Charcuterie in Apalachicola. We will be back.

We had a four-family reunion in 2 homes that were about 4 houses apart. Access to the beach was great! Beach equipment was delivered, as promised. Very nice beach decor. We loved having our dogs vacation with us. Narrow, steep steps were challenging for our older guests, as was access to the bathtub in the master bedroom. Property is in need of updating, especially the kitchen, grill, and master bathtub.

What a perfect fit this beach front property was for our family vacation! We wanted away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches to the west and we found a perfect vacation! Thank you Melanie for all of your assistance!

We had a beautiful time. The home was lovely well maintained and clean. Many beautiful accessories and I loved the layout of home. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and other rooms. Right out the door to the beach with two nice decks also with a pet gate made it nice to bring our little pug.

The house Abiding Place was a very pleasant place to stay while visiting St. George. Nicely decorated, furniture in good condition, and well-equipped kitchen. Only issue was toilet in master bedroom (lower level) sometimes took several tries to fully flush. But not enough of an issue to contact property management over it. Generally water pressure seemed low.

Lovely accommodations, terrific location, beautiful ocean views & easy beach access, and very comfortable condo. Highly recommend! Forgotten Shores Property Management folks are awesome! Walked us through a little tropical storm with patience & kindness.

Why only 7/10?
Outlets on porches didn’t work properly. This made sitting on the porch almost impossible after 10am for us and people in our group that are disabled. Also, the beach canopy under the porch is unusable.

We've stayed in these East Gulf Rd cottages many times. This unit was in the best shape of any that we stayed in. Very well kept and decorated in adorable beachy ambiance. Location could not be better. Right on the beach. Truly special!

God blessed us with a sweet place to stay just a few steps from the beach. Excellent views, loved having the double deck and easy boardwalk to beach. Plenty of room for the family. Well equipped kitchen, room for everyone to sit in the family room and dining area.

We've been spending the month of February in this comfortable beach house for 5 years and have enjoyed it every year. The owner repainted the entire interior since our stay in 2020. Everything is so cheerful and fresh. The house is right on the beach, with 2 decks that have beautiful views.

Abiding Place is centrally located and within walking distance of the stores and businesses on St. George Island. Great views of the Gulf and the beach from the porches and roomy deck. The fresh paint makes it nicer than it appears in the pictures. The property manager is very helpful and a great person to have as the manager.

This was a great location for our family. The view was amazing, the beach was right outside the door. The kitchen was well equipped (some of the pots and pans show wear, but that's to be expected, I guess). The cabinets and drawers smelled pretty musty, especially in the bathrooms, but overall it was clean, and nice. The decor was pleasing. The beds were soft (not so good on my old back!) but the linens were immaculate, and fresh, and everyone seemed to sleep well despite the soft mattresses. Be aware there are a LOT of stairs! We would definitely enjoy staying here again!

This was our 1st time to rent a beach house and we are now spoiled. Before we had only stayed in beachfront condo's and it will be tough to go back to them. The views were amazing and we could walk everywhere. The home was well furnished and furniture comfortable. The homes are close together but privacy was not an issue. The only issue was the kitchen outlets and that could've been our fault. We bring our coffee percolator on vacation with us and whenever we had the percolator plugged in, sink light on, and stove top on it would trip the breaker. Red Tide was present but we went to the beach everyday with no issues and usually had the beach nearly to ourselves.

this house was fine. It seems like a lot of the row houses are not in great shape and haven't been very well maintained. I guess that's what you pay for. We found several bugs, the sheets had some fresh stains on them and the dishes were definitely not clean when we went to use them. the furniture was very uncomfortable but we spent most of the time outside. if you're looking for a place to spend lots of time on the beach it will do, but if you're looking for a really nice place to stay this place is just average.

Great getaway for all 6 of us. We were all impressed with the condo and location. It was well kept, clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Rental process was seamless. They were happy to accommodate our pups (who were slightly over their posted weight limit). Property is in reasonably good shape, but for the price, there were a few things that I wish were improved. Master bedroom door sticks and won't close, upstairs sliding door sticks, kitchen faucet wouldn't rotate--just little things. Sand everywhere, but it's a beachfront house, what are you gonna do? Gorgeous view, close to everything. Had a sliding gate on the deck to contain the puppers, and a baby gate in the house, too. Overall, a great experience.

We really liked Abiding Place a lot. Walking distance to all of the restaurants on the island, right on the beach. Well maintained and decorated. We loved the bright coral walls in the living room. We’ve already rebooked for another stay!

We again spent our 5th february at abiding place.What a nice escape from the minnesota winter.The house was bright and cheerful.Clean and well stocked.The new appliances were a welcome change.Cant wait for the new rocking chair next year.

We really enjoy Abiding place, it's why return year after year. The proximity to the beach, grocery stores, walking path is wonderful, we walk just about everywhere. The house is clean and well supplied.

The location was awesome! Convenient to everything. The unit needs a new dishwasher. It would be nice to have cleaning supplies in the unit. The beach chairs were broken and the beach towels could have been newer.

We had a very enjoyable stay and was a very easy arrangement. No problems with booking and the property was very cozy with excellent views.

This house was great. It was clean and had a lot of amenities that other houses don’t provide. Furniture and beds were comfortable and well maintained. The view from the decks are amazing and the house has easy access to the beach.

Location was great, Condo was very clean! Jamie was very helpful with anything we needed!

This rental wasn't even remotely clean enough for the amount of money we paid. The faucet in the kitchen was completely broken from the sink. The tub in the master bathroom . We did love being so close to the ocean.

Lovely home right on the water. Everything you need, just bring food. Well-maintained lots of extras. Dog friendly beaches. The view is breathtaking! My daughters keep saying, “Mom can’t we live there!” We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend.

Wow!! My family just had one of the best vacations ever and it's all thanks to Abiding Place. It was everything as advertised, the beach house was clean and well maintained. The customer service renting the beach house was excellent and I would highly recommend this beach house to anyone looking for the perfect beach getaway. You can walk right down to the beach and enjoy the beauty of St. George Island.
